Volunteers represent Trajectory to the public. All actions must support our mission of sustainable natural resource management and connecting communities, workforce, and education through safe, respectful, and ethical practices. Trajectory "invigorates communities by tying historical identities to modern workforce needs."

Volunteers must treat all participants, staff, and other volunteers with courtesy and professionalism.
Harassment, discrimination, or retaliation of any kind is prohibited and is grounds for dismissal.
No volunteer may ever be alone one-on-one with a minor; maintain “two-adult” or “open-door” policies.
Oregon is a mandatory reporting state: all volunteers must immediately report suspected child abuse or neglect to a Trajectory staff supervisor, who will file with DHS or law enforcement.
Physical discipline, corporal punishment, or inappropriate contact with youth is strictly prohibited.
Volunteers must protect confidential information, including personal data of staff, donors, students, and partners
Do not discuss sensitive information in public spaces (elevators, restaurants, etc.).
All digital systems, documents, and communications are the property of Trajectory and may be monitored
Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Volunteers must follow staff instructions and OSHA/PPE requirements when using tools, machinery, or vehicles.
Only trained and authorized volunteers may operate heavy equipment.
Volunteers must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required and return all issued gear and tools at the end of service
Report all injuries, hazards, or unsafe conditions immediately.
Illegal drugs, controlled substances, and alcohol use are prohibited while volunteering.
Volunteers must refrain from fighting, abusive language, threats, or damaging property.
Volunteers may not use their role for personal gain, outside solicitation, or political campaigning while representing Trajectory.
Volunteers may not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during service.
Theft, dishonesty, or misuse of Trajectory resources will result in dismissal.
Use of Trajectory computers, phones, and internet must align with our mission and not conflict with laws or ethical responsibilities.
Do not access, send, or download obscene, defamatory, harassing, or copyrighted materials without permission.
Passwords and logins must not be shared.
Volunteers may not photograph or film minors without express Trajectory consent.
Images of volunteers may be used in Trajectory’s promotional materials unless a written opt-out is submitted.
Violation of these policies may result in reassignment, termination of volunteer service, or referral to law enforcement where applicable.
Volunteers may be dismissed at the discretion of the Executive Director, Volunteer Coordinator, or Board Member if their conduct endangers others, violates law, or conflicts with Trajectory’s mission.
